Firethorn (Pyracantha) is a genus of large, thorny evergreen shrubs in the family Rosaceae. They are native to an area extending from Southwest Europe east to Southeast Asia, resemble and are related to Cotoneaster, but have serrated leaf margins and numerous thorns.
